  1. 1.  Friedrich Wilhelm Lins wurde geboren am 11 Apr 1756 in Altenhaßlau, Linsengericht, Hessen; gestorben nach Nov 1832 in Oswegatchie, St Lawrence, New York, USA.

    John Maybee on Rootsweb: He enlisted or was drafted into Prince Frederick's
    Regiment in Gerrmany in 1776, sent to Quebec in Oct. 1777. While prisoners wee
    being marched toward Boston, Linss was one of the 10 or so who escaped between
    Nobletown, NY and Great Barrington, Mass. It was here that he raised a family
    of five children.
    WILLIAM FREDERICK LENSS, RWPA #R6300. He was born in Germany on April 11, 1747.
    He was first enlisted by Captain Jonathan Piercy, a Recruiting Officer, to
    serve in the Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan McKinstry's Regiment of Levies, but
    was transferred to serve under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Marinus
    Willett. He states that he fought in the Battle of Butler's Ford in 1781, and
    was among the advance guard in Willett's Oswego Expedition.

    In 1806, 1807, 1809, 1810 and 1811, Frederick Lenss of Augusta was licensed as
